Jim got into the illustration industry as an erotic artist at the age of 24. He did erotic art for private collectors and galleries until he broke into the indy comics’ field in 2004. Jim worked on a number of small press and indy books until he made his sketch card debut in 2006, with the release of The Complete Avengers for Rittenhouse Archives. Topps soon followed up with an offer for Jim to work on a number of sketch cards for the first of two The Lord of the Rings Masterpieces sets. Within the past five years, Jim has worked on many high profile card projects including Star Wars Galaxy, Lord of the Rings Masterpieces, Indiana Jones, The Women of Marvel, Dangerous Divas, X-Men Archives, Spider-Man 3, Voltron, The Wizard of Oz, DC Legacy, Marilyn Monroe, and The Classic Sci Fi and Horror Movie Poster sets, just to name a few.
In 2010, Jim had his first published comic book work see the light of day with Zombies vs. Cheerleaders Geektakular#1 published by 5FINITY and Moonstone Books. He then had his work featured in a coffee table book entitled, “Voltron: United and Drawn” also from 5FINITY and Moonstone.
In 2011, Jim continues his work in the trading card field. Working on a number of upcoming sets yet to be announced. He is also in the process of penciling a high profile crossover comic from Beta 3 Comics which will feature Marat Michaels’ Blindside character from Image Comics. He also founded Asylum Studios.
